ColorCraft is saddened to share the passing of Carlos Vives, a longtime Fabrication Technician whose craftsmanship and dedication helped shape countless projects produced by the company.
Carlos was known throughout the shop for his deep passion for building and problem solving. A skilled craftsman who embraced complexity, he had a particular enthusiasm for challenging custom elements and intricate builds. His work left a lasting mark on the company’s portfolio, with his fingerprints present on nearly every project that moved through the shop during his tenure.
More than his technical abilities, Carlos will be remembered for his eagerness to take on difficult challenges and his pride in bringing ambitious ideas to life. Whether helping solve fabrication puzzles or ensuring the smallest details were executed correctly, he approached every project with determination and care. His presence in the shop was equally impactful, as he was widely respected by his teammates and known for helping foster a strong sense of camaraderie.
“Carlos was the kind of craftsman every shop hopes to have,” said Doug Hughes, President and CEO of ColorCraft. “He loved the work, especially when it pushed the limits of what could be built. Many of the exhibits we’re proudest of carry his influence. More importantly, he was a valued member of our team and a friend to many here. He will be deeply missed.”
Carlos’s contributions to ColorCraft’s projects and culture will continue to be felt for years to come. The company extends its sincere condolences to his family, friends, and colleagues.
